CT & Harvi Requirements**
Here are the CT & Harvi requirements for Zappi Installation to measure power supply, PV supply (Solar) and Battery.
Single Phase Zappi (7KW) comes with 1 x CT Clamp to measure the grid, but can wire up to 3 x CTs internally for PV or battery monitoring. A Harvi is required for additional CTs.
Three Phase Zappi (22KW) come with 3 x CT Clamps to measure the grid and can only wire up to 3 CTs internally. Harvi's are required for additional CTs.
If you have any questions please contact us.

Three Electric Car Charging Modes
ECO
Charge power is continuously adjusted in response to changes in generation or power consumption elsewhere in the home. Charging will continue until the vehicle is fully charged, even if power is drawn from the grid.
ECO+
Charge power is continuously adjusted in response to changes in generation or power consumption elsewhere in the home. Charging will pause if there is too much imported power, continuing only when there is surplus free power available.
FAST
In this mode, the vehicle will be charged at maximum power. This is just like an ordinary Mode 3 charging point.
Charge your EV with power from the grid, solar, or both
You don’t need solar panels or a wind power system to use the Zappi EV Charger. But purchasing it today, means you’re future fit for tomorrow.
Zappi is a smart EV charger with a difference. Zappi can operate as a standard home car charger, using power from the grid. It also has optional charging modes which use 100% green energy generated from your own home Solar PV system or wind generation.
Using your own power generation increases the Return On Investment (ROI) for your panels and electric car. And means that you can charge your EV at home for free! Zappi is easy to install and user friendly. But don’t worry, if you don’t have solar panels installed, the Zappi will still operate as a standard car charger harnessing power from the grid.
FAQs
What is the difference between untethered and tethered EV chargers?
A tethered charger comes with a charging cable physically attached to the charger.
An untethered charger does not come with a charging cable. You will need to purchase a separate charging cable if you purchase an untethered unit.
If I have a single phase grid connection, what power EV charger can I install?
For Single Phase, our recommendation is a 7kW Single Phase charger. The 22kW Chargers are three phase, you can install them and connect them on single phase, however, the maximum power will still only be 7kW.
If I have a three phase grid connection, what power EV charger can I install?
On a three phase grid connection you can install either a 7kW (Single Phase) or 22kW (Three Phase) charger. The benefits of the three phase charger is you can charge at a faster rate (not all cars can, so important to check how fast your car can charge on an AC connection).
What is the benefit of buying an untethered EV charger?
The main benefit of an untethered charger is that you can take the separate cable with you if you go on a road trip. For a tethered charger you cannot detach the cable from the physical unit.
Does Solar Matching work with my EV Charger even if I don't buy the extra CTs?
Yes, all features of the Zappi will still work. The additional CT Clamps are used to record the data and show the solar generation within the Myenergi App. If you do not purchase the additional CT clamps then the solar generation statistics will not display in the Myenergi App.
Zappi EV Charger Smart Phone Application
Once you receive your Zappi EV Charger you can download the Myenergi App. This enables you to schedule charging, view your charging statistics, change charging modes and view your entire eco-system of connected devices.
If you want to see your solar generation or battery storage within the Myenergi App (see picture) then you will require additional CT Clamps and potentially a Harvi Unit. See CT & Harvi Requirements if this is of interest to you.
The main benefit of connecting all of your devices is so you can see exactly how much energy you are using and then order the priority of energy supply within the app. i.e. if you want your battery to be filled before your EV starts charging, then you can set this up within the app. See the below example images from the Myenergi App.
Zappi EV Charger with High Solar Generation
Zappi EV Charger with Low Solar Generation
Zappi EV Charger with No Solar Generation
