Financial Incentives

  • From 28 October 2022, buyers of new eligible battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles with a dutiable price of up to $68,750 can apply for a $3,000 rebate. Available for the first 7,000 vehicles. The subsidy is limited to one per individual or up to two per South Australian Business.
  • 3-Year Registration Fee exemption for new battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles first registered from 28 October 2021 until 1 July 2025. The 3-year exemption will apply from the date of first registration

Infrastructure Investment

  • The SA government has committed to investing 7,500 subsidies of up to $2,000 to be used on smart charging solutions. The system must include a 7kW or above EV smart charger that is remotely and dynamically managed to respond to total site electricity demand and to align EV charging with periods of high renewable energy generation and/or low electricity grid demand.
